S.O.L.E. (Summer Online Learning Experience) Math is an eight-week, online math program for students in grades 3-12. The program runs from June 17 – August 16.
S.O.L.E. is online math learning module, powered through ALEKS, a software program that provides individualized learning and assessment with standards-based content for grades 3-12. ALEKS uses an artificial intelligence engine and adaptive questioning to determine precisely what a student does and doesn’t know. Through highly targeted instruction and continuous assessment, it delivers a personalized math learning path.

S.O.L.E. is online math learning facilitated through ALEKS, a powerful math software that provides individualized learning and assessment correlated with Common Core standards. The program determines a students’ skill level through targeted instruction and continuous evaluation. It helps students improve their math skills whether they are starting with basic arithmetic or advanced calculus. ALEKS uses an artificial intelligence engine and adaptive questioning to determine precisely what a student knows and doesn’t know and help him or her master new skills.
S.O.L.E. stands for Summer Online Learning Experience. The Memphis Challenge is excited to administer S.O.L.E., an 8-week, online math program for students in grades 3-12. The program runs from June 17th – August 16th.
We know that math can be challenging and consistency is important. Research has shown that without intervention the average student will lose two months of math skills during summer vacation. S.O.L.E. helps to eliminate math anxiety, combat summer learning loss and boost interest in STEM fields.

The program launches on June 17, 2024 and concludes on August 16, 2024.
All a student needs is access to a computer, internet and a COMMITMENT to work their S.O.L.E. plan daily for at least 30-60 minutes per day.
Computers are available at Memphis Public libraries. Students can also complete S.O.L.E. modules on their tablets/ipads.
No worries! As long as a parent/guardian’s email is included in the registration, we are all set.
You can expect mastery (on average) of 2 mathematic skills for each hour of work. You can help your child by ensuring that he or she has regularly scheduled time to work on S.O.L.E. Memphis Challenge will update you weekly on your child’s performance. If your child commits to working on S.O.L.E. 30-60 minutes daily, five times a week, his or her math skills and confidence will grow!
